The coolest online game you've NEVER played!! This completely "flash"-based game is free to play and requires no downloads to your computer (except maybe an update for "flash"). It's a fantasy RPG that uses turn-based battle strategy. The world is huge and is constantly growing.
Although technically you can play for free, only "Guardian" members are guaranteed to get on the server even during really busy times. Becoming a Guardian is a ONE TIME fee of (I believe) about $15.00, but it will be some of the best money you've ever spent.
I can play this game at ANYONE's house that has an internet connection (FINALLY something to do in your free time while visiting out of town relatives that aren't "gamers") and my character's stats are all saved on the Adventure Quest server.
With multiple character classes to choose from (and you can be several simultaneously) and quests for characters of all experience levels, this game is the perfect "in-between-games" choice to pass the time and can be shockingly addictive.
Take on some quick random battles during a lunch break at the office, or settle down for a longer, more involved "Quest".
And one of my favorite features? No player vs. player! Granted, you don't get to team up with others while you play the game either, but then again you also don't HAVE to team up with other players to complete the quests in this game, as some other MMO's force you to do.
There's still a little community aspect as you can join various guilds that compete with each other through killing monsters or questing.
